Tree removal and felling in Bolton, done safely
Sometimes a tree simply has to come down. It might be dead, diseased or dangerous, it might be lifting a drive or blocking all the light, or it might just be the wrong tree in the wrong place. Treelation have been removing trees across Bolton and Bury for over 20 years, from small garden trees to large mature specimens beside houses, garages and greenhouses.
Straight felling or section felling?
Where there is plenty of open space, a tree can be straight felled in one piece. In most Bolton gardens there isn’t room, so we dismantle the tree in sections: a qualified climber works from the top down, cutting manageable pieces and lowering them with ropes so nothing lands on roofs, fences, sheds or borders. We once took down a large leylandii in small pieces with a greenhouse on each side and a shed behind — without a scratch on any of them.
Reasons to remove a tree
- The tree is dead, dying or diseased (e.g. ash dieback)
- It has been damaged in a storm or is leaning dangerously
- Roots are damaging drains, walls, paths or foundations
- It’s far too big for the garden and blocks light
- You need space for an extension, driveway or garden redesign
Before we fell: TPOs and conservation areas
Many trees in Bolton are protected. Before quoting, we check whether your tree is covered by a Tree Preservation Order or a conservation area. When a protected Scots pine in Bradshaw was damaged in high winds, we helped the owner obtain permission and then removed it safely.
Stump left behind?
After felling we can cut the stump flush to the ground or grind it out completely with our stump grinder, leaving the area ready for turf, planting or paving.
Everything is cleared away. Branches are chipped, timber is removed or cut into logs for you, and the garden is raked and swept before we leave.
